Public Service Announcement...........

Adam at GSM Phonesource was successfully able to unlock my brand new, Cingular branded 7130c last night.

So for anyone who needs the device for use on another carrier, with a pre-paid SIM, or whatever. Have no fear. It can be done.

I know this may have slipped your mind when you were having trouble with your 7130 - but do you think unlocking it may have been part of the problem you were having?

I also got my 7130c unlocked by gsmphonesource.com

I got the code in about 1 business day. It seems weird to pay $40 bucks for 16 numbers, but there was no way that Cingular was giving it to me.

Glad you got your code. Does Cingular ever give that code out? I heard stories that they give you the code as long as you have 3 months of good standing on your account and you need it because you are travelling abroad. I wonder if there is any truth to this...

It can be ridiculous. Some people wait for a very long time. T-mobile hands it out like candy, but Cingular is very stingy. But this worked great, I highly recommend it.

Yup. I've only had my 7105t for 2 months, but because I've been with T-Mobile for 3 years, I got my unlock code 2 days after I requested it and unlocked my BB in less than 5 minutes. Didn't even have to go through the hassle of explaining why I wanted it unlocked. And the best part is that I didn't have to mail off my BB somewhere and worry about it coming back damaged, and it was FREE

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I came to Cingular by force. Everyone I know is on and now I use barely 300 minutes of non m2m minutes. I miss tmobiles unlock policy.

So now that you guys have these unlocked 7130's laying around, anybody want to sell one?

TMO is just moving too slow on introducing this unit for me.
