Default Why does my 7130c have to lie to me?

Please Login to Remove!

I got my 7130c today (replacing a 7100t), and everything is working beautifully. Enterpise activation is done, I'm getting my emails and text messages, etc.

However, I have the message icon in the left with a 1 by it, indicating that I have 1 new message. Yet in the messages area, it says " * No Messages * ".

Anyone know where this rogue message might be hiding?

Could it be a missed call or saved web page?

Well, I'm not sure. Looking in the back of the manual, there is a fold out that tells you what all the little icons mean. And the one I have is just the regular orange folder which means "unread message." I'm assuming that means email?

Edit: Ok, I guess it was just a glitch. I took the SIM card out and put it back in, and now the message indicator is gone. Hehe, I should have thought of that first since that seems to be the fix for a lot of things in the past. Kind of RIMs version of rebooting Windows.

Actually more than likely it was removing the battery that did it.

That's really the RIM version of a reboot.

That happened to me on mine too. I took the battery off and it disappeared. A soft reset did not work.

Are you using the cingular theme? I've been using today ever since I powered up the device. I don't know why, but i prefer today on the 7130 and ZEN on 8700.

I am, and I agree with you. I tried the other ones, and prefer the Cingular one. I think maybe just because its cleaner.

EDIT: Whoops, sorry, I can't read apparently. I like the Cingular one, not Today.

I had that happen to me too with a different device and different carrier. Took about 3 reboots, and countless wipes/restores before I finally got an OS that solved the problem.

Default Unread Message Indicator

Pulled the battery on one of our executives 7130's and it reset the message count. How annoying is this???!!?!?!?

I also prefer the Cingular theme, after trying all the others.

The only thing I wish I could do is move more things into separate folders.

Like into the Applications folder, or create a Games folder, or something like that.
