I have just one phone...my BB7100T...it has everything I need...email, phone, IE and since I got the BT it has gotten even better...no need for a land line or any more phones...although I am considering upgrading to a 8700.

I had carried 2 devices for a long time - a Dell PDA and mobile phone (the last being a Nokia 6585 - sweet phone, great reception, terrible battery life).

When I got my 7130e, I decommissioned all other devices cold-turkey. I do miss the apps I had on my Dell Axim, but am more productive because of the BB email connectivity.

I have a question for all of those that carry two phones-How do you deal with two different numbers?

I have had my cell number for a long time-I am a fairly recent BB convert-came over February of this year. I absolutely love it-Came from a SE P910 which was fairly good but the lack of edge and battery life finally pushed me away.

Anyway-I never thought I would but I kinda miss the camera. Am thinking of getting a SE W810i-Just trying decide whether to get another line or just swap SIM cards. I did this recently on vacation. The wife said no BB so I brought the razr. About every other day, when she was in the shower I popped the SIM in to my smuggled BB and downloaded email. I dread the thought of getting another cell number and updating everyone. I also thought that I could just use the BB for data and a cell for voice.

I have two lines. I have had my cell number for years and far too many people know it. Moreover, a year ago I ported my home phone number to my wireless carrier--and went completely wireless--since it was much (and I do much) cheaper. I have had both numbers for "eons" and canceling one would not be prudent at this point. Anyway, I digress. Since I have two lines, I carry two devices. One line is my BB (8700) and the other (currently) is an unlocked Motorola PEBL.

I carry both a 7130c and a Palm T|X (too many useful tools to give up, WiFi support).

My company does not support blackberries...I use a i265 for dc and vox (work) and just got a 6280 for my personal phone. The blackberry is the best pocket pda (calender, notes, tasks etc) I have ever used. I used a 6720 for a long time for just the pda function; no phone or data...

Three reasons I carry two:

1. Love the 8700, but phone quality fair at best
2. Never hurts to have a backup (always use different providers)
3. Love having newest gadgets

Ok, throw in a bit of obsessive compulsive disorder too

Just one blackberry 8700. I used to carry a cell and a PDA, but when I bought the 8700 I can't belive I did that for so long when all I needed was one device. Its great having everything in one.

I dumped my land-line, and replaced it with a second mobile number. I carry my 8700c to work. At home, I typically carry that, and 1 of a few other alternates that I rotate through: A PEBL (Chrome), SLVR L7, V195, or a soon to be delivered "My Faves" capable RAZR. All on T-Mobile. I swap SIM cards around a lot, but I've become a phone junky, and I can't help myself.

I've never had a land line. I've always just used a mobile phone. I don't use the phone nearly enough to justify needing a land line (with or without long distance). And I've always gotten "good enough" coverage at home with my mobile service providers.

Right now I carry a personal BlackBerry and a work issued BlackBerry. I like to keep the two separate.

Many of the respondants appear to carry both a personal and work issued phone.

Plus since I'm not an executive or sales manager, I can't have my personal number ported to the company account. I requirement, IMO, should I cancel my personal service, then at some point in the future decide to leave the company. They told me upfront I couldn't keep my work number (even if I pay the ETF [early termination fee] to that line) should I leave. It would be bad enough getting my number updated everyone (utilities, colleage, family, friends, colleagues) once, let alone twice. Since it is my only phone, I really need to keep the number.

So for now, for better or worse, it's two phones for me.
