I purchased an 8700c in November 2005 and another last month (July 2006). The screen on the earlier one is much brighter than the new one. For example the 80% setting on the older one is brighter than the new one at 80%. Are the newer blackberries dimmer?

Note: They have the same brightness when the on-off button is pressed, but the issue occurs at the intermediate on-off setting.

Adjust the Backlight Brightness by going to Settings > Options > Screen/Keyboard.

You don't understand. I know about those settings. If I set them both on 90% for example, the one I bought in Nov 2005 is much brighter than the one I bought in July 2006. Are the new screens dimmer?
