Please Login to Remove!

when i created an email account for my BB 7100i at the blackberry/nextel site it gave me a @sprint.blackberry.net email.. i was expecting a @nextel.blackberry.net

anyone know why is this? and is there anyway to get @nextel instead of @sprint?

You will need to call Sprint/Nextel. Hopefully you will get a good CSR and they will switch it.

With the merger, I have heard they are now creating new users with the ***@sprint.blackberry.net instead of the ***@nextel.blackberry.net.

Eventually you will have to have it changed down the road when the merger is 100%. May be easier to just keep it now versus changing it later.

I just got my black berry 7100i from Nextel about 3 weeks ago and they gave me a @sprint.blackberry.net e-mail name. So mine is [email address] ..... This is because of the Sprint NOW together with Nextel merger. Doesn't bother me which company is in the e-mail address as long as it works LOL.

Sorry for your dislike with Sprint. Keep in mind that Nextel will be fully incorporated into Sprint over the upcomng years.

Only suggestion I can offer, is call customer service and explain your issue. Hopefully you can find a CSR to help you.

how will it be "fully incorporated" if they both run on different technology?

In the years to come, there will be no iden network, and all of our phones will be paper weights.

Just like what Cingular did to AT&T Wireless... Sooner or later you'll be migrating that NXTL address to Sprint. Its all up to Sprint to do the switch.
