Default New to blackberry, few questions!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello!
My name is James and I just ordered my first blackberry (8700G) and I have a few questions.

I had the sidekick 2 for about 9 months then I got the sidekick 3 about a month ago. The SK3 was nothing special over the sk2 and I just got bored with it. Another reason why I changed was because I'm working on a cruise ship in hawaii soon so I needed a better email phone.

Here are a few of my general questions..

1. I have the unlimited text, email and internet. Do all blackberry plans come with a @tmo.blackberry.net email account?

2. I read alot of different people saying different things about 3rd party IM clients. What should I get? yak on etc?

3. When your on aim from your BB, do you show up as mobile on peoples buddy list or just regular like on the sidekick?

thanks!

I can't really answer the IM questions, because I don't really use IM. However, yes, all BlackBerry plans come with a carrier-provided email address.

IM- depends on your cash and whether you are on BES or not. The three listed on my tips page all work great on BES. On BIS, don't know. Webmessenger is most robust if you have the cash.

another thing you might want to know is that the internet plan you had for your sidekick will not work on your blackberry. You need to get the blackberry internet plan.

Thanks for the heads up but I got the blackberry plan. I made an entire new tmobile account for it and gave the sidekick to someone.
