Default 7 users in Houston area get SOS often on their 7230's

Please Login to Remove!

For about a month now I have about 7 users in the Houston area whos 7230s started to get sos/x etc. We have tried upgrading the FW and this did not help. Some areas they are able to get a signal and others they are not they just get SOS. All 7 of them used to get service fine in all the areas in question. We put 1 user on an 8700 and she is fine now.

Any ideas on what may be happening here? Cingular will not admit to any porblems.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I use to have a 7290 w/Cingular and the coverage was ok w/GPRS in the Houston area. I upgrade to 8700c w/EDGE and have had no problems with coverage at all since.

Is Cingular done integrating its networks (Old ATTWS and Cingular networks) in Houston? That might explain it. I would have thought they would be done by now, but I don't know for sure about Houston.

7230's are tri band devices while 7290's and 8700's are quad band devices. It's likely that Cingular has been moving more toward 850MHz in Houston (but I'm completely guessing here).
