Default mp3 files from emails to mini sd card of 8100?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know if the 8100 will be able to download mp3 files from emails to the mp3 player or to the mini sd card?

I doubt it as the attachment service feature is part of the BES

Attachments are handled by the BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) or the BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) and converted into a BlackBerry/handheld format. Currently neither the BES or BIS support mp3's as attachments so you can't play them or save them from an email.

Thanks for the info, does the BES or BIS support any music files?

I don't think BIS supports any music files, but BES does with version 4.1 SP2.

EDIT: that doesn't mean that you can't still use the browser to navigate to them on the web. Just can't get them through email. You can also use the Media Manager in Desktop Manager 4.2

.wav is the only format supported by BES at this time, seems kind of stupid as the device handles .mp3s

So if you can't download the .wav files to the mini sd card from emails, what does the BES supporting .wav files do? Or shall I say how can that be useful?
