Unhappy Using AIM on the 8100 - limited buddies?

Please Login to Remove!

I set up AIM (messenger) on my Pearl using the built-in AIM client. When I log in, it only shows 10 of my buddies. I have roughly 25. I'm not sure why it picked that group to show on the Blackberry.

I read in a recent post on here that someone else only sees 30 of his. I definitely don't get that many.

Is this a bug or limitation?

Thanks!

Yes. I loaded it. I just thought I could use the pretty built in AIM. Disappointing. Oh well!

yeah. it's okay, i chose ramble since it uses data to send messages instead of SMS. since i don't have an unlimited text message plan. i have a good 400 message plan though.

The built in AIM uses the buddies only in your "Mobile Device" buddy group. So sign onto AIM on your computer and copy all of the buddies that you want to see on your 8100 to that group, and then it will be fine.

As has been mentioned before, you can only put 30 buddies in your Mobile Device group. But if you only have 25 buddies, then you will be fine. The reason for the limit is trying to manage a buddy list of any more would be somewhat difficult on such a small screen.

Bingo! The Mobile Buddies tip worked.

But now I realize there is a significant bug in the AIM software. It won't remember the notification setting. I keep setting it to flash/no sound and it just forgets the setting and does nothing instead.

It also takes a lot longer to load than Ramble but Ramble doesn't seem to have the option of visual notification with the flashing light. Purple would be cool!

Who do we report these AIM bugs to??
