I had a missed call today so I cleared it in the phone app then for some reason the icon on the home page would not go away. I checked all the folders rebooted the phone with a battery pull and even held the power key down for 30sec all with no luck. So I called Tmo they said reload the OS so I laughed lol.
I ended up having to wipe the handheld to get it to go away! what a pain in the arrss.. Anyone else have this problem with there 8100 yet or is it just the ghost in mine comming out to say HI!

Now that issue is out of the way do you have any ideas on the missed call icon not going away? Is this another bug in the pearl? Maybe I was to fast with my finger when i deleted the call but that shouldnt matter...

Go into your main message window. Menu > View Folder > Missed Calls. There should be a message there you can delete to remove the icon on your home screen.

I do not have any calls in that folder, is there a way to just disable the missed call icon? This seems to be a problem with the OS there are a few other threads on this. I have (3) missed calls according to the icon and nothing in any folder.

I had the same thing happen to me last week, couldn't figure how to make the icon go away - nothing in missed folder (I cleared all folders just to be safe). 2 days later the icon just disappeared on its own. weird.

I had the same issue after I had changed themes. The missed call icon went away after I removed the battery.

I had the same thing happen with a email icon (again after a theme change).

Now I remove the battery after I change a theme....

Its a bug in the OS then if a few of us are haing the same problems I ended up wiping my whole handheld to clear it since there was nothing in any folder I checked like 10 times to make sure and when I called Tmo support they said I need to reload the OS which I thought was pretty funny since that seems to be there answear these days for just about anything they can't help with lol. SO getting a nother call cured your problem? I'll try that next time before I do another wipe. I was also thinging about just using the DM to delete the phone app and then reinstalling it back that should work right?

It happened to me too. Called my BB and it went away.
