So I noticed sometimes when i go to answer the phone and start talking.. it gets REALLY BAD static and can hardly hear the other person..
any ideas what this is from?
is it a bad phone?

i just bought it so i can still go and switch it out.. not sure what to do.

i thought it was my radio or somethign messign with it but its not. turned that off and still got it a few times. just a real hassel to tell the other person let me call you back cuz my 8700 sounds like its gona die. lol

Have you tried pulling the Battey out then back in.

i have pulled the battery out and put back in before through out the day and that didnt do anythign i dont think. not sure why it does that static crap.. i did notice my reception was around -89... that borderline bad i believe.. that do anythign?

I recall experiencing this previously, and it turned out to be a problem with the local network, which was subsequently fixed.

so far happend 4 times... 2 times in my house different spots and the other two out driving around.. just slowly started get worse and worse (static) as i drove it seemed and never recovered.. i thought i was jsut goign through a rough spot but static never went away :( shoudl i jsut go back to cingular adn switch out another 8700? will that fix?

Reading Consumer reports on cell phones and service (for some reason BB was not rated) and the biggest problem with Cingular is the static. I get it all the time, having the same phone. While it pisses me off, theres nothing I can do about it. URGH! ~_~

funny thing is my old phone (nokia 8890) NEVER had that static problem... and it was only a dual band with only 1 band operating in the states.. and the 8700 being quad band.. WTF?! am i missing something here?
