I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but the left convenience key, regardless of what it's set to, always activates Voice Dialing when the button is held down on the Home screen. It's kind of useful for me, because I like to keep Profiles on a hotkey, but I don't have to sacrifice Voice Dialing or the Camera key to do it.

I for one would consider it a feature. Shame to waste a convenience key on a function that should always be available with one key press, and they seem to have solved that with press-and-hold.

It doesn't work like that on mine...maybe it's theme specific. What theme are you using? I'm not using zen. I'm using Dimension-icon.

I really hope this is not a bug. Definetly too useful. Thanks for letting us know about it. Too bad it doesn't seem to also work with the right key on mine.

I haven't been using the voice dialing, so I wanted to change the key function, but it's really nice and I wanted to have it on easy access for when I do need it. This is perfect =)

Hmm, it seems to work on all themes for me -- BB Dimension Icon, Today, Zen, and T-Mobile Zen. I set the left key to Profiles, and holding it down still activates Voice Dialing.

Changed my left key to application switcher, never falls back to voice dialing. However, the first time I cycled power it reverted to previous options in regards to application organization, subsequent cycles haven't done the same thankfully (I like the weather being up there instead of looking for it! )

I'm not saying the left key reverts to voice dialing, but that it keeps whatever function you have assigned to it in addition to voice dialing. Pressing it briefly activates the assigned function, while holding it down activates voice dialing. I'm beginning to think it's a bug because at least one person has reported inconsistent results with this.

I did some theme switching and tried this in other themes. It finally worked! I switched back to the theme that it didn't work in (BBdimension Icon) and now it works there too! Sweet! Two keys in one! Now we're talking! I like it!
