Doesn't the RAZR home charger damage the BB batteries? Why not the car charger?

A charger is a charger, what matters is only the output volt # (occasionally input volt #)...
It is a no brainer, i like the size/weight of the RAZR charger better

Amazon used to have the Razr charger dirt cheap too... I have been using it on my 8700 with no ill effects.

So, 7100 car/home chargers should be okay on the Pearl?

I read the power label on both 7100 and 8100 adapters and the voltage is different. Could this harm battery life?

The OEM 8100 charger charges much quicker than my old Motorola L7 charger.

No, in fact the 7100t chargers, which I use on the 8100, are actually less voltage output than the 8100, but not by much, I think 1/2 a volt. So a lower voltage 7100t charger cannot hurt the 8100.

And the difference in voltage is so low between the two that the 7100t won't charge the 8100 slower.

Isn't it nice to have mini USB as the the connector for the charger. Sure ended all of us having to buy extra chargers because of proprietary connectors.

Folks...do a quick search for "RAZR Charger" or the like...you'll see that it's been explains pretty frequently...and it's even gotten into the specifics of voltage vs amps, etc.

But the bottom line is, yes, you can use a RAZR charger on a BB. I wouldn't however, do the other way around.
