Hello.

I have a Blackberry 8707v of Vodafone Spain.

My questions are:

- How to transfer files to Blackberry 8707v?

- How to update de Blackberry 8707v software to 4.2?

- How to use a Blackberry 8707v with another email client (type pop3) and not use a blackberry email of a operator...?

Many thanks.

Here are some answers...

1. There is no way to do this, other than via e-mail or, in the case of ringtones or pictures, via the browser. OS 4.2 may solve this for the 87xx series, some of the beta testers may be able to answer this.

2. OS 4.2 is not available for the 87xx models yet. Some people have beta copies, but its not an open beta. No idea when it will be available to the general public. As for how to upgrade if and when it is available for the 8707, searching the forums will find the answer. I don't think anyone knows yet if and when OS 4.2 is released if it will support the 8707 right away.

3. Only e-mail options are BIS from your provider and using their web interface to configure it to check the different mail sources for you, or BES which is tied to your organizations mail server infrastructure (Exchange or Notes).

4. The 8707v does not support pairing with a GPS device (although it can pair with, say, a TomTom unit as use the TomTom as a handsfree device. Again, the 8100 supports this with OS 4.2, so maybe the 8707 will when and if 4.2 is released.

Read the reply, its not an open beta test. Probably carriers and RIM only.
