Default Sprint 8703 and Yahoo IM

Please Login to Remove!

OK so I got this new awesome 8703 running just the way I want with one exception. Yahoo IM wont run I was able to install it just fine but when I try to connect I get please goto blackberry.com/go/yahoo to register. I have reinstalled a few times sent services books etc no luck. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I had this working on my 7250 wtith no problems. One thig I did notice was that there is no Service book for the app. When i compared it to my 7250 there was one listed there.

Thanks

Thanks of the reply but the link does not offer a way to register. It simply brings you back to the dl page. Did it work for you? You were able to register?

Close your browser and open the application itself and try registering from that point. If not you can register from your pc.

I downloaded it and it works fine, but I was already registered.

I am using it on a 8703e running the Sprint OS on the Bell Mobility network.

Sorry but I don't know.

When I opened the app; it loaded a sign in page. Yours should open with a page asking for your Yahoo ID and password.
If it doesn't . . . I don't know what to tell you . . ..

Anyone else?

try making a new Yahoo screen name and password and see if that helps clear the problem. I have never heard of this unless you do not have a Yahoo messenger/email screen name and password

Samething thanks for the suggestion. I just removed the app from the app loader and reinstalled from PC>IE. Rebooting now to see if that helps. I know the service book is needed for this to work and I dont have that on the BB so that has to be part of the problem.

I have a 8703e with Sprint and am having the exact same problems. How can we get the service book for this, from BB or SPrint? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Steve, I should have posted a followup to this thread on how i fixed my Yahoo IM problem.

What I did was sort of a take off of Spencer_CDS idea with Cingular.

I took my OLD 7250 and connected it to the desktop manager and backup'd my service books. Then I took the BBFS2 [YHO] service book and loaded it to my NEW 8103e. Then without even a reboot i tried to connect to Yahoo and bam it logged in. Im glad to report that all is working fine! So this can be fixed steve it took me less than 3 mins. If you need better instruction follow Spencer_CDS guide do a search for yahoo, cingular and you should fine it easy.

Im glad I was able to help. I was determined to get that to work and was happy to share the info. Although I cant take all the credit Spencer_CDS did spark the trigger for me.
