webmessenger offers the most sidekick-like AIM expierience on a blackberry, extremely reliable, and stable, and will save your messages if you lose service unlike veriwack
Ugh, these subscription services really bug me. I'm such an infrequent user of these IM services that paying a monthly fee seems rediculous to me. I guess if I used it all the time and got a good IM client out of it I'd feel different. After all, I do pay monthly for cell/Blackberry service.
I use google talk with the AIM and MSN transports and it works great. Just moved to the 8100 and am in the process of deciding just how much I like it....
Anyways, thought I'd throw my $.02 in the bucket. For free, once you find a good BB Gtalk friendly transport, you're set. Loaded right up on the 8100 and seems to work just fine.
so the tmo aim client by oz uses sms? I have unlimited txt from cingular but can anyone confirm that the 8100 tmo I'm client works over cingulars network?

I know this may not help many, but hopefully some ... I have found that Yahoo! Messenger will work on Cingular's network (and other networks that do not provision the Y!M service book) if you manually load the service book onto the device. For more info, check out my thread here:
