I am a new blackberry user and I just got an 8700c just over a week ago.* I love the whole blackberry thing,* but*the 8700c*too big for my tastes,* especially coming off a Razr.* I am thinking of trading it for a 7130c.** I tested one out at a Cingular store and really liked it.* Smaller and more like a cell phone.*

I hear Cingular is going to roll out the Pearl in early November.* I played with the Pearl at T-Mobile store.* It just did not feel right.* Maybe I really like the track wheel as opposed to the track ball.* Just seemed too small for emailing and web browsing,* but it is sure HOT looking.** What to do?

I would recommend you read the threads in this forum and make up your own mind. I like mine. It has more pros than cons for me, but you may be different.

The trackball actually works very well. IMHO, it is better than track wheel. The screen is a bit small for serious web browsing but for email it is okay.

It's great. And I hated the Suretype keyboard. The trackwheel ("Pearl") is superb and I totally adapted to it within a matter of days. I switched over from an 8700g, which I loved, and never looked back.

YMMV. Just my opinion.

The Blackberry Pearl 8100 is a great phone, and of course its not going to feel right its not the usual blackberry. The Pearl is the first blackberry thats ment for the regular consumer. If you know blackberrys you know that they were always business orientated and tended to be a little bulky. The Pearl now sports a 1.3mp camera which is completely unusual for blackberry and its more of a standard phone size, the half qwerty keyboard and the trackball will take some time to get used to but id say its worth it, plus the suretype on the Pearl works wonderfully. However i would also say to look through the forums and get some more information and decide for yourself.

Hey... you posted this in Pinstack! Same response here dud, I mean dude. Like the other post says, read the posts and threads and decide for yourself.

In the world of 4 millions BB users, we cannot take the time to convince a prospective Pearl purchaser to take the plunge.

Besides, isn't that what RIM'S marketing dept. is supposed to be doing.

I'm going to check out the tmob Dash next week before I decide on that or the Pearl. Similar features but with QWERT and a landscape screen. More like the Q, with WiFi, BT stereo supported too. Reviews on cNet and pcmagazine.com. I read about way more problems with the Q than with the Pearl on forums.

Just so you know the Dash launch as been moved to the 24th or 25th
