I can't say how long I'll keep it, but I have a Pearl that I'll be playing with for a while. I have a 7100i right now, and holy cow is the Pearl so much smaller. Adjusting to the wee-bit smaller keyboard and the trackball might take a day or 2, but I'm curious to see how well I'll like the device.

Would be NICE if it came with a holster, though!!

I soon might be taking the same plunge as you. Going from the 7100i to the Pearl will take some time getting used to.

I went from the 7100 to the Pearl and I could never go back now. It is so much better in almost every way. The ONLY thing I miss is the high capacity batteries I had for my 7100. To upgrade from the 7100 is almost a no-brainer. You are already used to the keyboard style. The trackball smokes the click wheel for sure.

Upgrade...you know you want to!

I'm coming off a 7100t. after less than a week I went back to it for something and found myself trying to run the trackball on it instead of the wheel. very short, shallow learning curve. loving my pearl and not looking back.

Well, I hate to do it, but I have to go back to the 7100i. I really did like the Pearl, and the trackball was very easy to get used to. However, it doesn't work in the majority of the office/manufacturing areas where I work, doesn't work AT ALL at my house - and I'm always 'on call' so no coverage just doesn't cut it. I have to go back to the 7100i simply for the support reasons.

I did really like some of the new OS features that I found (being able to show 'free time' on the calendar's Agenda view, along with showing the end time of a meeting). And the ZEN theme is very nice.
