Default purpose of bb 8100 skiins?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey ladies, gents- this question might sound pretty odd but I'm kinda daft at times. I was wondering whats the purpose of skins for BB? Usually they're described as protective but they don't seem to do much protecting at all.

I for instance carry my 8100 in my pocket and it does not share pocket space with anything else. When its not in my pocket the only things I can think of that could happen is dropping it, dropping something on it or scratching the screen/other parts. These skins don't really seem, to me, to protect it much of anything, maybe scratches.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Aesthetics. And it keeps the fingerprints off. Although you might have it in a pocket by itself, that doesn't apply to everyone. The skin also helps protect the camera lens.

When I get my magenta skin mine will look pretty ;)

My reasons would be variation, grip...keeps it from falling out of my hands and it keeps most of the scratches off when it is in my purse.

I don't know why you think it doesn't cover well. I think it cover quite well. Once you get a screen protector, you are fully protected.

If you drop it, nothing will happen to it. It also grip well. So you can leave it on your car dashboard without it sliding away. It will protect it from scratches.

One last thing, it also give it a better resale value when you try to sell it on Ebay.
