Default T-Mobile 4.0 OS Download

Hi,
Has anyone heard any updated news about when T-Mobile might stop password-protecting the software update website? I remember that others had heard it was supposed to work again by Friday at noon, but that time has long passed...

I have been in touch with their wireless data tech support via email for a couple of days, and keep getting told to check back in 24 hours. Of course, I've been told this about 5 times now with no solution in site. I figure this could go on for weeks before someone with enough clout over at TMo actually becomes aware of the problem and starts investigating, thereby prompting some action by the appropriate person.

I've got the software, if you want it and have AIM, shoot me a message...

I might be able to find a place to upload it though too.

They must have just fixed it, because those links weren't working a few hours ago. 'Bout time ;)

Just upgraded today from T-Mobile with no problems. No password protection and no problems once upgraded. I just downloaded the two files and the instructions and followed them. I can now sync with Outlook with a non BES setup and everything else is working great.

Hi all,

I could sure use some help. I am totally confused. I just upgraded to 4.0 by downloading all the appropriate software from the above links. Seemed to work fine. Weird thing is this:

1) I don't remember an "Enterprise Activation" Icon before. I am not using the phone within a corporate exchange server or anything like that. I kinda don't even need the option.

2) My T-Mobile browser is plain gone, and I can't seem to get it back.

Anyone give me ideas as to what I am doing wrong? It would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Also, do I NEED to install the desktop update? When I originally installed the desktop software I was instructed to install a special copy of the software from my IT dept. Should I wait for them to update me or would you think I was safe just upgrading the phone, or both?

Thanks.

Re-register the BB on the network. Tools-options-host routing table - click scroll wheel - register now. That should get your browser back. you can hide apps by hitting ALT-click scroll wheel. hide app then unclick show all.

Latest Handheld code is from Cingular. I'm using that OS myself on my 7100t.

*shrug*

i'm sure there are some bug fixes somewhere in it.. heh. although anytime any provider comes out with a newer version, i'm likely installing it the first day i see it out, so... if you're like me, then do it. but then again, if its not broken, don't fix it.

something like that...

jibi,

By doing this, are you able to utilize the Cingular theme on your unit?

there is no cingular theme. if there was, yes. the o2 handheld code is like this (and the way in which we received the theme). the 7100g uses the default list theme. if you had a 7100g and installed the 7100t software from TMO, you'd get the TMO theme (for what thats worth, as i despise it).
