I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum. VAD does not work with the 8100 when connected with the Dodge UConnect BT system. The failure mode is that after pressing the VAD button, the "say a command screen" will come up on the 8100, but nothing audible is heard from the 8100. The 8100 then does not respond to any attempts to say a contacts name and basically times out. I can dial using the keypad or the contact list on the 8100 and it works fine and dials through the Uconnect system.

My previous phone was a Samsung I730 which used the same Voice Signal VAD SW in the phone without a problem.

I have tried pairing the phone again, reseting the 8100 and the Uconnect system.

T-Mobile says it's not their issue because I have successfully paired the phone. And you guessed it, the uconnect support said it's the 8100 issue.

So looks like this phone goes back unless I can get this VAD issue fixed.

I have an 06 Grand Cherokee with uconnect and I dont have any issuses using the vad on my pearl with it. I have the release os on my pearl but will be putting the rogers update on my phone to see if I notice any improvements.

Do you have your security settings---> content protection set to include your address book ? You shouldnt if you do.

If thats not the case I dont know what to tell you other then there maybe an update for the uconnect system itself.

If you need someone that has your basic hardware working as an example feel free to pm me and I can give you any important info they ask about my uconnect software version(I'm sure they can look it up some how) or phone settings.

The security protection was disable so that should be the problem.

A co-workers 8100 was tried with 05 CTS Cadillac and it also didn't work.

Sorry to hear you are still having issues with your pearl and uconnect. I have updated the os to the rogers release and I still have no issues with my uconnect and pearl. I can tell you for fact that they will work together for vad.

Just to be sure I dont have any contacts inside the uconnect's address book so I know its pulling from the phone when I activate it.
