Why? Is there a reason the wouldn't make an 8700 for nextel? They have made all the other models so far 7100i etc

It's been well documented that Nextel is done making new models of Blackberry handhelds. Discussed at length.

Sorry, but there won't be a Nextel version of the 8700 series. Or any future series.

Sad news, but Nextel is far from a favorite for me anyways. :(

I can't wait for the Nextel fanboys to eat their words when Sprint turns iDEN off.

... and aside from PTT iDEN is a dated single band, slow technology that really shows its limitations in todays wireless data market.

New products in the making and they are releasing a hybrid phone. Watch and see.

For me, its just that nextel has a stronger signal density in my area compared to all the other carriers.

SO where would I go to find this well documented discussion from RIM and nextel?

I just switched from 7520 after 2 years, for the 8703e on verizon, I couldn't wait any longer and was sick of seeing all other carriers get it. It's been 1yr now since cingular came out with it.
