Default BBerry Intellisync keeps prompting for password

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

I just installed BBerry Desktop Mgr. 4.0.33 and then the latest 4.x handheld software for the Verizon 7250.

All the sudden the user started getting prompted for entering his BBerry password every 2 seconds, you'd put it in and then it would apparently take it and cycle back thru again.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and that worked for awhile this morning until the user got an error about "Rim handheld USB drivers are unable to suspend at this time".

The user restarted his system to clear that error and all of the sudden the password prompt is back to popping up every two seconds.

Any thoughts?

Thx,
Jon

The password is probably from the user's device. Clear the password on it and it shouldn't ask anymore.

Default BBerry PAssword prompting

Thanks,

The Desktop Manager software is what appears to keep asking for the password.......when the BBerry itself is uncradled it does not keep asking.

We require passwords on these devices. Are you saying to reset it to something else on the device and then see if that will settle the Desktop Manager behavior down?

Thx,
Jon

When there is a password set on the device, you have to enter the same password when the device is plugged in via DM. It's for security of the device. No way around this that I know of.

As long as there is a password on the device, you will have to enter it in on the DM as well.

Default Intellisync

Thanks,

We are used to getting one password prompt from the Intellisync/DM software but once answered it usually goes away, doesn't re-prompt every 2 seconds.

We run about 125 similar Blackberrys and I have never seen DM act this way.

Thx,
Jon

Could be the new version possibly? I don't really use the DM anymore.

Does it go into the sync process? If not, then double check that you are using the correct password. It sounds stupid, but if the password on the handheld is "7714" make sure it is entered on the handheld while holding the alt key. If it is not, then the password is really "zzws". I've done this many of times.

Thanks for the repy.

The password is correct. I found out the guy was using a non-powered USB hub and I am starting to suspect that is my be connecting/disconnecting intermitently and possibly causing the password reprompt.

Thx,
Jon
