The battery drain is not too bad for freeway driving. It is like 10 to 15% per hour. I guess it would get worst if you drive all local because you will get a lot more voice prompt and every turn the display will turn on.
I would help you to look for house address easily, but could miss it by 1 or 2 houses if they right next to each other. For commercial addresses, I found it to be hit and miss. If the business is not inside a shopping area, it does a good job of finding it. If it is in one of those big complex with lots of shops around, you just have to circle around the parking lot until you spot it.
Since you are only using it for the holdiay, you could just use the 30 days free trial and cancel it afterward. ;)
