Looks like it's down right now. It's just a Cingular + Pearl splash page. Says "coming soon..." and allows you to post your email for more information when it becomes available.

As stated elsewhere on the forum, price without a contract is $399.

This all comes from the cingular BB site:

Consider the new BlackBerry Unlimited Personal, International, Tethered, or Enterprise plans starting as low as $29.99 per month. Try the BlackBerry Max plans that offer 1,000 text or picture messages for $9.99 extra.
Learn More about the BlackBerry Pearl.

And:

Buy it a BlackBerry Pearl phone and any microSD memory card online before January 20th 2007, and save $30 after mail-in rebate card! Requires 1 or 2 year service agreement and qualified activation on a BlackBerryConnect data plan. Other conditions apply

I hope it's in the $199 range after rebates with a 2 yr contract.

$399.00 w/o contract? That is crazy!

But, you know I'm going to pay it anyways....

Dear Mr. 1FASTMR2,

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail Cingular Wireless regarding your equipment question. I am happy to help you with your inquiry and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I am not sure what kind of questions you have about the "Blackberry Pearl" but we dont offer that phone. We also dont have any advanced information on whether we plan to offer the phone or not. You can always view the latest phones on the Cingular.com website.

Please visit our website at Cell phones and cell phone plans from Cingular Wireless for the latest pricing plans, phones and promotions.

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us via email. We know you have a choice in the wireless industry and thank you for choosing Cingular Wireless!

I'm betting they have been told to not say anything.

So, when the day is done we are all just left here holding our you-know-whats and waiting.

Gosh Megs - for all of the effort/calls/posting and mental energy ... you could be happily Pearl'ing away on T-Mobile right now .

Works wonderfully in the Bay Area & Oregon for me /

I know...I almost got one but then was told I should just wait it out for the Cingular one. I am not good at the whole being patient thing but oh well. I thought I might have problems with the data plan and internet stuff but have since found out that everything works fine. Oh well, at lease I will get a good price, since I am eligible for an upgrade AND it will have PTT <---not that I can use that with anyone but oh well...maybe in the future.

T-Mobile did the same thing. I called retail stores who had them in their possession but would say when called they have never heard of the "8100" or "Pearl"

Cingular...you are killing us....

How hard is this to do, really?
Just ship it! You know how much money Cingy will bring in with this launch?
I'm sure they make a ton on the device when you buy it outright, which is what i will have to do!

hate to tell you all this but I am pretty sure that it is not coming until around first week of Dec. I work for a large telco and our account rep for national sales says first week of Dec. Cingular is f'ed up. I am about sick and tired of them.
