BB7250 upgrade OS on Bell Mobility
Please Login to Remove!
I did everything to the letter, and saw the last screen advising the OS upgrade to v4.1.0.303 was successful, I hit close and then disconnected the BB
It seems to have started a reboot now I see the hourglass for close to 1 hour and then success it seems to be working fine. Wow very different desktop on the handheld
Now off to the Bell store to flash it for EVDO
any recommended stores in downtown Toronto to do the flash?
Great forum tonnes of info!!! ![Thumbs Up](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/thumbs_up.gif)

BB8700g Brand
Hello BB-user,
I have used the note from Mark Rejhon in order to change my BlackBerry 8700g OS to the actual version, thanks for that, it worked out perfectly. But, one of the aims I followed has been to change the brand my BB is designed for (T-Mobile in my case)! I tried to upgrade to an OS Version from a different provider, but it did not change. Is there any possibility to run a GPRS Browser with a different SIM Card?
Thanks,
REM

If you change the OS but delete the vendor file it will still show the original OS flash screen, i.e. T-Mobile unless I am mistaken, BB Gurus please correct me if I am wrong.

You can not change the original vendor branding. If it was a Bell branded BlackBerry it will ALWAYS ben a Bell branded BlackBerry. For example, the power on screen can not be changed. Even by applying a "different carrier's" version of the software.

My wish for this thread...
I wish this thread would go back to the old format of listing out the versions. I know it was probably a pain to maintain, but when looking to fill my "run the latest version" fetish, I have to go clicking around to LOADS of carriers.
One compromise might be a "latest known version by hardware", where the latest 7280 is linked, the latest 8700 is linked, etc. Rather than maintaining the current version for each carrier for each unit, simply link the latest for each unit, regardless of carrier.

hardly a pain..With all of the mods on here, they should be able to pick up each others slack.. I know if I were a mod, I would take the time and do it with no problem..

Another district heard from.
If we organize it by model, then people will complain that they want the link to their particular carrier.
No way to win. I guess people will have to deal with it. When a post comes out about a new version, it normally has the link directly to it. I know the new 8100 versions have all had it.

Ever thought of leaving BOTH on the thread. Both the link to the carriers OS page and then a different portion showing each model and the latest available for the model.
It's not rocket science....

Okay stupid question time, whats the point of uploading a different carriers version software to your blackberry? Seen some posts on page 1 about it and i don't feel like reading thru 17 pages to figure out the answer so can anyone just briefly tell me if there are any benefits?
