Angry 8100 Trackball Discoloration

Please Login to Remove!

I got my Pearl just a week ago and over the last couple of days, the trackball has turned from white to a light brown color. I've been careful to keep my hands clean when I use the trackball so I'm puzzled why the discoloration. Anyone else have this problem and know the best way to clean the trackball?

Thanks!

You wear makeup or let anyone that wears makeup use it? The keys on my wifes old phone turned kinda brown from her makeup... or maybe you just have dirty hands?

Gross... you should be more clean. I've had mine since day 1 and it's spotless. Although I always am shocked how people can be so dirty. I have seen some prety nasty dirty gross phones.

yea, one of the phone reps at CINGY wanted to "see" my phone. I said, "I bet money your hands arnt clean so theres no way I'm letting you touch my phone dude." That was the end of that conversation. He swore up and down CINGY had the 8100. Turns out he was talking about the 8700 and he didn't know anything of what he sold.

yes, my pearl has started to darken from probably make up on my hands, however, I use my finger nail to gently scrape it off. Try also using an alcohol moist towlette (not too wet). This should help!

Had mine since day one.....no issues. It very well may be the oils on your fingers, even if you do wash your hands regularly.

I hadn't noticed any discoloration on mine, but if I look closely at the pearl, there is a plastic ring around the pearl itself that is much whiter than the pearl itself - the pearl is much more "offwhite". When the keyboard light comes on, however, the pearl looks very white.

Where was yours built? Maybe the pearls have different compositions based on whether they were built in mexico or canada.

Try rubbing it with a pencil eraser to get the grime off.

Is ANYONE's pearl as white as the white ring at the base of the pearl? I don't think it supposed to be pure white, as it need to be slightly opaque in order to light up.
