Default Possible Security Hole? Voice Dial

Please Login to Remove!

I've got my pearl connected to my HS800 Moto Bluetooth Headset. I enabled a password and set it to disallow outgoing calls while device is locked. I pressed the multifunction button on my headset and it asked me for a command. I went on to dial manual numbers and those in my address book. I tried changing a few settings and then changing them back etc etc. and in every situation voice dialing allowed me to make outgoing phone calls while my device was locked.

Voice dial must not trigger the security setting. Anybody with the same or differing experience?

There's an option to disable outgoing calls (but not voice dialing) when the Pearl is locked. Just have the bluetooth setting confirm a connection when you want to connect. If you ever lose the headset or you sell it or give it away, you just remove that headset from the blackberry under your synced bluetooth devices. I'm a security nut myself and I haven't seen any harm in the way it's set up.

Well I mean worst case scenario I leave my device and headset somewhere and someone gets ahold of it calls can be made. Its not likely they made it work that way?

Don't you think your paranoia level is a "little" too high ?

Not paranoid, but I deal with several govt departments who are very security conscious, including DND, so ultimately this is something they may notice. Mind you, not alot of govt is going with the pearl.

Did I ask if I was paranoid or did I ask if it was a potential security hole? Bottom line is outgoing calls are disallowed, yet the security setting isnt applicable with voice dialing. Thanks for the constructive input.
