Default Caller ID problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hey folks. I'm having a strange problem with my 8100. When I get an SMS the phone is recognizing all numbers as starting with +44 so when people in my address book text me I can't see their names, just their number in the international format. When they call it's fine and names come up normaly.

Very annoying becuase I can never tell who is texting me!

Can anybody help?

Many thanks
David

I assume you're in the UK...Why not just put the +44 in front of all your stored numbers? That's the only thing I can think of.

Press the green call button. Then menu/options/smart dialing. Make sure your country code is +44.

The National Number length in the smart dialling menu may be wrong. In the UK, the national number length is 10 (i.e. the numbers excluding the first "0"). E.G. in the UK a standard number is like 02075437418. Make sure that you put in the correct national number length.

You will get an issue where the national number length actually varies. In some countries for example, the length of a mobile number and a landline number is different. The only way that I have seen to overcome this problem is to actually put numbers in the phone book without the +386 for example.

Hope the above helps!

I have tried that too, if I put in without +386, then caller id is shown but when I get a message, it is show only number, not name (the same as now whith calls).
Names are shown only when I put number without the +386 and without 0
for example:
+38640123456 (when i get call names are not shown)
040123456 (when i get SMS names are not shown)
40123456 (names are shown in both examples, but I can not make calls, number is not correct)
I realy dont get it Im thinking maby its software.
I have tried everything in Smart dialing.
National Number, International Number, national number length from 6 to 10
The only thing that is working in corporation calling - VPN)

Only numbers showing on incoming calls. I've tried everything. The funny thing is that when I go to the call log...the name is there.

I've had exactly the same problem about a day ago. The problem just arose with numbers i had programmed into the phone and didn't recognise them although it had been recognising them previously. Very strange that i had to add into my contact the +44 part for it to recognise the cantact name. It seems to be ok again now though for some strange reason.
