Hie all just joined today. I got my first Berry yesterday. I was wondering can anyone explain to me in simple english why i need this data plan other than e-mail? When i connect my 7100t to my pc it will not find it? and when you try to download the 4.2 desktop manager why does it require me to enter my info like company info if idon't have a company? Thanks

Without a BlackBerry Data Plan all you will have is voice and SMS. You can also sync your calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with Outlook or some other PIM. Without the BlackBerry Data Plan, you won't have Internet access, PIN to PIN messaging (messaging to another BB directly) or e-mail. So you'll have a phone with decent PIM functionality.

Since so many business people use BlackBerrys, it asks for your Company name. Leave it blank.
