Default Re-installing everytime?

Please Login to Remove!

I got the APN settings working and Opera Mini works fine, but once I close and then re-open the program again every time, i get:

"To protect security... move the pointer around"

Then, I get to the Network Setup option (which has been completed at least 30 times).

Does this happen to anyone else? Is this just something to live with-- that EVERY TIME you open the program, you have to let it set itself up?

I Have not been able to get mine to work. I am getting a message that says "verification of server certificate failed. Check he date setting in your device". Any ideas?
I have the exact same problem. It was working until recently. APN settings are correct and I tried pulling the battery, still nothing. The BB browser works fine. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Instead of installing it from the BB browser, try downloading it to your PC and installing it through app loader. I had the same issue (except with Tmo) and when I installed it from the PC everything worked fine.

Another thing to try, is go into Advanced options/applications/Opera Mini and change all the options from "custom" to allow"

ok so the problem is solved, i stopped at the cingular store where i purchased the pearl..it was a complete joke, the cingular rep at the store couldnt figure out a d@#$ thing about the pearl..he took it from me and pressed a couple buttons and couldnt get the camera to turn off..he just started pressing a few other buttons and then handed the thing back to me..
so this as you could imagine left me pissed..ya know we spend good money for these things and we never get the service (especially from cingular) that we pay for.
so finally i called the tech support and after 30 minutes of trying to get the regualr service tech to get me to a data tech, i finally got someone who knew what to look for..
i guess cingular had not been updating my phones on their backend system, this wasnt a problem for a while because i was using wm5 phones so they all worked but since i switched to the BB Pearl(and never switching back i might add) there where some configurations that needed to be changed by cingular.
once they worked it out on their end opera loaded up with out a hitch..

thanks for all the help
cingular service (except for that data tech rep.) sucks

Wow, I've followed this thread and had every problem the same as the others on Cingular.

Dowloaded OTA and got the error trying to connect to internet (in step 2).
Deleted, downloaded to desktop, same error.
Checked TCP settings (all Caps where supposed to be)....same error.
Pulled battery...same error.

PD Sports and Worldmate all work fine, so I don't get it! Argh!

To everyone that loves this app, note the security issues. This goes through someone elses server so your passwords are not secure. Yes nice app, so consider this a public service announcement.

I also have Opera Mini but have been unable to get it to work.
My service provider (Kingston Communications/O2) can't help.
Any O2 user (UK) out there willing to share the settings with me?

Necessary information now found!

I was having the same problem, but since I'm mexican (in a mexican service provider), no one posted the information so I went to the page listed in the error at the opera mini and it helped me.
Go here so you can find the information needed no matter where in the world/Service provider you are in:

www operamini com/helpconnect

(use . instead of the spaces in the link)

:/ the link is wrong, this is the correct one:
http://www.operamini.com/help/connect/

(T-mobile user)
I entered the above settings and they worked, but does that mean I am now using T-Mobile's data service (which I am not paying for) as oppossed to blackberry's (which I am paying for)?

For O2 UK - OPTIONS> ADVANCED OPTIONS> TCP> APN mobile.o2.co.uk
Username for APN (leave blank) Password for APN (leave blank)

THEN SAVE - THEN CLOSE!

Thumbs up Success

The reboot fixed it. Yes it is much better than the BB browser.

I'm apparently challenged; I'm on TMO and have tried with and without an APN username and password and have reinstalled 2x using DM. Any other ideas?
