Default How To? Mark messages as read just by highlighting

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to set up my blackberry so that I can mark my messages as read just by hightlighting a message just like a normal mail application? I hate having to click on the message then click mark as read especially when it's just a message that I don't need to read.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8703e (VZW): BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Highlight the messages you wish to mark by holding the shift key down while scrolling with the scroll wheel. Then click the wheel and choose "Mark opened" from the menu.

That's what he's wanting to get away from.

I don't know of any way to do that. The only way is to do what you're doing already. For me the delete key works good to!

I guess I misunderstood; I thought he was requesting a way to do this for multiple messages simultaneously and that he was unaware of the ability to select multiple messages.

The behavior he describes for other email clients, as far as I know, is only applicable when the preview pane is turned on. I got in the habit of leaving it turned off when I was a Novell GroupWise user, since it had no way of preventing notification that the message had been read/opened from being returned to the sender.
