Default Disabling Password - Possible?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way to disable the password requirement - or is that a built in requirement. Using the OEM case that forces it to "sleep" and then requires one to input the passcode is a PIA?

Have you tried:

Menu > Options > Security Options > General Settings

There you can change password setting and if your Pearl gets locked when you put it in a holster among other security settings.

If that policy is set by your corporation's BES IT policy, then no. if you bought it yourself and it's not connected to your company BES then it is possible.

Try the above instructions. If it won't allow you to do it then it's prohibited by IT policy. If you bought the unit used and it was connected to someone else's BES then try this link.

Just to repeat, if you are connected to your company's BES DO NOT attempt to remove the policy. You risk your job and the policy will be pushed back anyway.

Ditto to what John just said. My Pearl is not on a BES but I do use the password. I really don't mind typing the password everytime I need to as it gives me extra peace of mind to safeguard my data in case I were to lose the device.

Thanks guys - I suspect it is set by corp policy. It is not so much the password, but the password requirements. I need capitals, numbers and special characters which makes at least 16 key strokes - way too many for a phone call!
