Question Armband Case for the 8100 (Maybe the XM-Nexus case?)

Please Login to Remove!

I have been looking for a good case to carry my 8100 while I am jogging (using it as an mp3 player).

I went to best-buy and it seems that the XM Radio Nexus is about the same size and is actually unobstructed where the opening is for the earphones and the volume buttons. It looks like it will hold it pretty well, even if the perl is a little smaller. I'm not really sure I like the 'styling' of it, though.

Here is a link to the item:

I think it is a godsend, until the real deal comes out. Anyone tried it yet? Or shall I be the first?

That's cool. Think I'll get one as I would like to wear the Pearl when riding my bike [currently I put in in a cell phone case that attaches to the handlebar. But that is a hassle when I forget to remove the headphone cable when dismounting the bike.

Thanks for the link and post. Can never have too many cases.

Don't get the nexus case... it's too small. The 8100 will SQUEEEEEZE down into this case, but it sticks out the top. The track ball is barely accessable. Also, it pushes on the voice dial button.

I think when I was at Best Buy I must have tried the Helix case, which is a bit bigger. I hope nobody went out and tried this one. If so, return it.

I'll let y'all know after I try the Helix case...

Wow! I had it shipped yesterday and it will be here today. The seller is very close to me, though. I ordered from PCandSTUFF.com, some site I found on Froogle that was cheap.

I will post pictures and a review sometime tonight. I'm going to take it to the gym for 'the test' after work.

Wow, I thought this thread was long forgotten. I had forgotten it myself. Anyway, The Helix case is a little wide and a little short. That being said, it works great.

Since the case is just a tiny bit too short for the pearl to snap shut, I put the headphone cord through the bottom. That holds it in just fine.

I have done push-ups, curls, flys, dips, DECLINE situps and, of course, plenty of jogging. It has never come out of the case.

So: Do I recommend it? Yes, until an official one comes out. You can find them pretty cheap on froogle or amazon.

I will post some pictures of the fitment. Just one thing; how do I post pictures?

I can't believe that BB does not make an armband case for a phone that can double as a MP3 player, but you say the Nexus case will work. I may have to try that.

I found a way to use the pearl with an armband. I will post pictures and a write up tomorrow from my desktop and the best part is it cost less than 20 bucks.

Looks good but that wouldn't be very convenient trying to work out and change tracks or just run. I could imagine the guy on the biked droping that while riding that would be an expensive mistake :(

Here is my homemade armband case. I used a seidio rubberized case and cut two slits on either sid of the back of the case then simply used a velcro armband from and ipod nano case. Pretty simple and works really it held up to a 3 mile run and indoor rock climbing today. Hope this helps others.
