I have a Blackberry 8700C that my company gave me.

It is really filth RF Noise that interfers with computrers(audio & video) TVs, my Stereo and even wipe out credit cards in my pocket if I put them in the same poscket with the Blackberry.

This ting transmits every few seconds and its really annoying. to the point that t is on a seperate table in another room 6 feet away from my computer and it still interferes with the audio.


I tried to E mail Blackberry but they did not respond.

Does anyone else have this problem?


If its this dirty I wonder what its doing to the Brain when you hold it up to Talk.

How did it ever pass FCC regulations? Or did it?

I have the same problem it's the devise communicating with the network. I have to leave mine in the kitchen when I go to bed, if not I hear that RF noise all night through the alarm clock.

Every GPRS and iDen device makes this noise. Move the device away from the speakers - that's the only thing you can do.

Its narrowband time division RF interference. And as mentioned, its common with all iden, GSM, and TDMA (IS136) devices.

and it's probably not the RF messing up your credit cards....that's usually just the magnet in the speaker and or the case.

Pretty much like any other cellular device.

You're only noticing the interference because it happens to be on a frequency that easily affects electronics (800 or 850MHz). Insert a SIM for a carrier that uses 1900MHz into the very same Blackberry and you won't notice any interference (at least, not until you place your Blackberry right on top of something else). That doesn't mean that your 8700 is suddenly "healthier" for you... With any wireless device there's a potential health risk. Don't assume that electronic interference, or lack thereof, is any sort of indicator of the safety of the device because it isn't.

That is, unless you have electronic implants in your head or something.

Right -- if you bother to look at the back of your 8700c there's a speaker that's pretty hard to miss. If you're pocketing your Blackberry it really shouldn't be in a pocket with anything else anyway.

Not ANY other cellular device. CDMA devices (including the CDMA BlackBerries on Sprint, Alltel, Verizon, Telus, Bell Mobility USCC, etc.) don't suffer from this problem. Hopefully WCDMA and HSDPA handsets won't have this issue, either.
