flacks,

Are you running OS 4 on your BlackBerry? It doesn't sound like it. PocketDay will only run on OS 4.

I have the 7510, it says v3.7.2.15, so I guess not, unless I am reading it wrong. Opening the desktop manager it says V. 4.0.0.3.0, forgive me, I am a newb!!

MARK:
Something has gone wrong with my Stocks today, the weather is refreshing fine so I do not think it is a connection issue. In my stocks ribbon I am getting truncated text and no ticker symbols. Itr reads like

<html... 400B... width.....

Any ideas on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

flacks...you need to upgrade your 7510 to BB OS 4. You can do that on the Nextel web site.

Cyberjack...Exit PD using the Menu/Exit command and restart.

Mark,
Think I mentioned this before and thought it was fixed but jumping up the month view using the alt key crashes the program if you continue to hold the alt key down and move the trackwheel after you reach the year.

tirsch, Was wondering if it was possible to have on option to display the next 1-3 appts on the main summary screen? The Pocket pc today screen and even the BBToday screens allow for this and just seems much easier to have it right there on the main summary screen. Additionally, when I installed the program it said that there was one apt. for the day, even when I hit the space bar it only showed one apt for the day. I did, however, have three separate apts. scheduled for that day and I could see all three when I actually went into the normal calendar app. Any idea what may be causing this? Thanks

mcapiro,

The appointments on the summary screen are on my todo list. As to the other appointments not showing up, I need a bit more info...what type are they (ie. recurring, all day, etc.). What time are they scheduled for? What timezone is your berry set to and where did you enter these (Outlook or berry)?

Is there any chance you could make just the shortcuts application or whatever it is free?

Mark, Thanks for the quick response and glad to hear that it's on the todo list. As for the appts not showing up, here's some of the info.

What type are they (ie. recurring, all day, etc.). --They are recurring

What time are they scheduled for? -- I have three scheduled for the day, One at 11am, one at noon and one at 3pm. Only the one at noon shows up in summary or when I hit the space bar to see the details.

What timezone is your berry set to. EST same as my pc

Where did you enter these (Outlook or berry)? They're all coming from Outlook

I've taken a look at some future dates and it looks like the problem is occurring on some future dates as well. Strange thing is that I haven't really noticed a pattern as to what is causing the problem. Some recurring will show while others will not. Let me know if there's any other info that can help.

EDIT: Actually did just notice that it seems to be dropping some but not all of my recurring appts on some days. Haven't found the commonality in them yet but will keep looking.

By the way... overall a great program.

You might want to look back through this thread - I'm betting your problem appts are Bdays and Anniversaries prior to 1970?

Nope, I've read through this thread and noticed the problem with the birthdays and these are not birthdays or events that go back past 1970. In fact these are all recurring events that began in January 05 and have an end date in May 05. No Anniversaries or B-Days here

Mark,

Ok have been doing some checking with my calendar and PD and here's what I think is going on. It appears that the first instance of a recurring appt will show up for the week (ie I have an appt set for every week monday, wednesday and friday. The Monday will show up but the Wednesday and Friday will only show up if I've modified the note field specific for that day.) So the problem seems to be when recurring appts are set up to recur on multiple days of the week. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I concur, that seems to be an issue. It's now on my list of things to deal with.

Thanks for the detective work.

It disappears when I hotkey into the email application, but as soon as i go back into pocketday, they're right back in there...

One other thing -- I've been trying to get the internet part of this working for the weather updates and other applications -- i'm on o2 (UK) and have all the TCP settings in place (or so i think) but I'm getting a "Failed to Transmit" IOException when trying to update the weather. Anyone have any ideas?
You can get them to disappear by going into "Settings" and then scrolling down to "Weather Location" and then to "Weather type". "Weather location" is the first menu setting that makes the "ABC" pop up, and it goes away when you scroll off of that selection. Not sure how to get it to just randomly stop popping up though, this is just the quickest workaround I've found.

The 123 will go away after you register. It's caused by the Registration Key field that doesn't show up after you register.

To remove an OTA go to home/options/applications, find PD and hit delete from the menu. A new OTA will completely overwrite the old, so there's no need to uninstall.

That happened to me too, and there were some unread messages in a "junk email" folder. I have a ton of folders, and it was taking forever to go through them to see where the problem was, so I found the easiest way to fix this was to do a message search with nothing selected, so it basically shows every message, phone call...etc in one screen as a result of the search. Then go into the menu and select "mark prior opened". This marks everything opened, regardless of where it is. If you have a lot of messages, it will take awhile, so just let it sit there.

tirsch,
I am a fairly new user (just two months), and downloaded the Pocketday 1.7 earlier in the week. I really like the app, and the help here on the forum answered my questions to get up and running. However, I do have two questions I can't find on the forums after several searches. As additional background, I have a 7230, with OS v4.0 on T-Mobile, and my company uses Lotus Notes (I sync with a company Notes server).

1st question:
In PDay, Unread emails shows I have 5-10 emails (started with 5 and has grown to 10, back to 8), although I don't seem to have any unread mail. Here are the things I have checked already.
*The counter on the BB doesn;t show any unread messages.
*Just in case, in the mail app, I clicked on Mark Prior Opened.
*I marked all docs in Notes as read, and resynced.
*I checked the settings in PDay and checked check mail in inbox only.
Not sure what else I am missing...

2nd question:
The weather is showing the current weather for next three days, but the date is still the date I loaded the app (4/19), and the stock hasn't changed since I loaded the app and fixed the TCP connections. Is this something that only works in the registered version?

jrwoodall,

1st answer...unread email differences are almost always caused by unread mail in your Saved messages folder which the main message app doesn't count, but I do. Check there. If the weather isn't working then your settings may be incorrect, but it doesn't sound that way. I would exit PocketDay using the menu/Exit command and restart it and see what happens.
