Think a developer may just need it early?

Need will not change the patern we have seen here to only include Texans in this 8800 release. My bud, Bush, must have got this for his state.

I have been way more anxious with other Blackberry releases. I am looking forward to the 8800 on Tuesday. Will be offshore, fishing, on Wednesday but have someone who will pickup mine if that is when it arrives. It will not be evolutionary compared to my 8700.

Excuse me. It is Sunday with no more UPS or FedEx deliveries to the AT&T stores until Monday. Maybe I should have encouraged him/her to keep hoping. Maybe a prayer, Sophist.

Correct Answer. Mine was made in Mexico.

Also, it appears that the distribution began from 122 West John Carpenter Fwy, Ste. 430, Irving, TX 75039 (i.e., RIM's US address).

LA cingular peeps...

called about 10 stores...nobody has a freaking clue. "next month, next quarter" LOL

Not really happy about the blue...been waiting for this release for a LONG time. Just switched from verizon and got the blackjack in the mean time.

Will the 8800 have the ability to download GMAIL and my work email in realtime unlike the BJ which only downloads every 15 min...

THANKS

Presumably, yes as GMail (forwarded or via gmail app) works on all BB devices so far, I believe.

Your Blackjack could get desktop Outlook email as it arrives, but that's a choice you have to make.

Is there UPS or FedEx on Monday since it's President's Day? Yeah, after the initial excitement yesterday of people getting them, I've resolved myself to just be jealous and wait until Tues/Wed.

Now if I could just pry myself away from this website...lol

Just called my local Cingular store. I was shocked they even admitted knowing what the 8800 was. The "data specialist" thought they'd be on tomorrow's truck and I could pick one up then. Can't wait!

All the Crackberry 8800 Heads should chill.

No point getting a new cellphone in a rush unless it has Wifi and/or 3G
and a big 3" screen. Can't do streaming music and video without 3G or WiFi Broadband speeds.

A camera is a nice option for consumers, but most businesses discourage camera's in cell phone. 1.3 Megapixels is aweful. 2 MB is passible
and recording video is important if you want to make a camera useful.
Most cell phone cameras will reach 2-5 megapixels this year and eventually become really useful.

The Apple iPhone is going to blow away most of these models in the pipeline for 2Q-4Q 2007 when it drops in June 2007. A 3G iPhone is going to be epic.
The current OS's in smartphones are crippled. iPhone uses OS X and a real browser to allow more real access to Office attachments.

I have a BB Pearl 8100C and it is great for a phone released in 2004-05.
Looking at attachments like Word/Excel/PPT is aweful on a 2" screen.
With Edge no streaming multimedia anything.

Any buttons on a cell phone will become obsolete in the next few years.

If you want to blow $$$$, buy a waterproof 50" plasma for the bathroom.

Cheers

PS I will probably wait for a 3G iPhone or a 3G Cingy BB 8800/8900 or 9xxx series with a 2 megapixel camera.

Anyone who bought a 8800 early and who didn't get the $50.00 rebate from Cingy since the form isn't out yet, should just return to their local Cingy retailer with the receipt in a few weeks and they will give you the Rebate form. The form may be downloadable on the CINGY Site.

For my Pearl 8100C I had to mail it in anyway and the Cing rep just filled it out for me and added a second copy of the receipt. Should be the same for the 8800C.

These rebates are usually good for several months, so you are covered.

You also have 30 days to return the BB phone in case a newer BB model comes out (WiFi or 3G or Camera).

Cheers

PS The free 8800C Leather Holster in the box was $40.00 extra for the Pearl.
So the 8800C $299 price with a 2 year plan is a good deal.

Pearl 8100C was $249 - $50 Rebate + $40 Leather holster = $239

That makes the prices for the 8100C vs. 8800C very close with all the rebates.

You think you're going to be able to open Office attachments on the iPhone? lol It's been widely publicized that the iPhone will not support Office attachments.

Don't get me wrong... I'm a huge Apple fan (I recently swtiched to a macbook to get rid of a PC laptop). And, I think the iPhone is going to be huge just from the cool factor. But, I do think it will ultimately dissappoint most people that buy it. Plus, I've come to realize (after reading lots of Apple forums) that buying the first year anything from Apple is bad.

For us, simple folks having 42" HDTV at home, having 3" screen called big causes laughs.

The Apple iPhone has some really nice innovative features, but OS X is not one of them. Unless, of course, iPhone will run on 2GHz processor with 1GB RAM.
Unlikely.

Email your boss the summary of the business plan you are bringing him Monday, without 'obsolete' buttons.

iPhone is not for email writers, it is for email readers.
