I just got a GlobalSat BT-359 that's working great with my Pearl. You can pick them up for around $100

Pair with TeleNav and it's Outstanding for driving directions!

I even used mine on the airplane today with BBMaps. While in network coverage I open BBMaps, download all the map area I want by panning around and zooming to the right size and then take off leaving the puck paired to the phone. The BT-359 kept up with the 450 mph for the entire route with no data service!

Then get where I'm going put in the address of the restaurant for lunch and makes a great day!

People ask me all the time about it at work (are they turned on by my gadget?? ). They can't believe that it is a GPS device. To test it's sensitivity I have even put it in my glove box, no interruption!

Funny you should mention that....I learned that yesterday too...We got to Yakima and borrowed a car from the FBO to go get some lunch. It was a POS. I set my BT-359 on the dash to get directions to the restaurant. could've found it without but since it was brand new....We started driving and the first thing my buddy did was turn a little hard and the thing slid somewhere out of sight! OMG!! Lost down into a broken defogger grill was the first thing that came to mind! Fortunatly, that's not where it went ~Whew! It slid into into the glove box. But the glove box was locked and I couldn't get it out until we stopped and unlocked it. The thing kept up with giving the directions until we got where we were going.

I saw this on RIM's website, but said it's for the 8800. So it will work with the 8703e from Verizon? Is it magnetic, so it will stick to the top of your car? If so I could order this and give my TomTom One to my BF.

Nope it works for the BB 8703e also. Check out Stinsonddogs excellent GPS review here:

Stinsonddog's Blackberry GPS Tips

It isn't magnetic so deff wouldn't be able to put it on the top of a vehicle. The reception (from my experience) has been excellent. I have put it in my glove box for a trip and the pairing was not interupted and Telenav kept right up with it. Some get a little anti-slip pad and put it on it.
