Interesting Q on Pics and Folders
Please Login to Remove!
Here is a question...anyone else run into this?
I created a new folder on my Micro SD as a place to throw pictures into.
The 8100 sees it fine, and will let you view the pics, no prob.
The 8800 sees the folder, but it shows up as empty. Can't view the pics.
Any suggestions? If I run media manager, it shows them there...
Kinda stumped on this one...

I think it's because the files that are stored on the cards are named something like "file.jpg.rem" - which only display using the Media Manager or the software on the 8100. At least that's my experinece.

Still messing with this...
Tried emailing a pic to myself. Saved it in that new folder....
After saving it..8800 can't see it! I'm hating that!
Has anyone else tried this? I need to try saving a pic in a regular folder and see if that works....

Hate to keep harping on this, but I have to figure this out.
I used media manager to move a pic from my new folder to the pictures folder, and the 8800 sees it right away!!
What is going on???

I think you figured it out -- it appears that the BB can only display pictures from the default folder.

I am not having that problem. I think its because you are mixing devices without reformatting. I sent myself a picture, and then saved it and then viewed it and then assigned to a caller id. I am pretty sure your device switching is the issue. Guess you gotta have two cards - interesting.

i think it can only see the default picture folder. you cannot create another folder to store your pictures on the same level as the default picture folder, but you can create as many sub-folders WITHIN the default picture folder for you to store/organize your pictures.
so, instead of saving to any folder, saving to folders within the Picture Folder.
Memory Card/Picture/- Good
Memory Card/Picture/Background- Good
Memory Card/Background- Bad!

I will give that a try.
Even when I email a pic righ to the 8800 and save it in my new floder, I still can't see it. I will keep working on this.
Maybe I just need a second Mirco SD! But that seems like overkill....

If this is not the solution, then you can't switch cards between devices, but I'll be this is the solution.
