Question running a background-application - someone knows how?

Please Login to Remove!

hi,
i have to code an application for bb-handhelds.
once startet, it should create an background listner-thread, that waits for incomming data.
when data arrives, the thread caches the data.
when the user enters the application again and presses a show-button, then the cached data should be presented.

so, my questions:
1) how is it possible to set an application into background?

2) is it possible to read the bb-handheld browser-cache within an application (not with the browser)?

thx for your answers
mmkl

Hi There!

In regards to your first question, go to projects->properties and check 'run on startup' ( or similar, can't remember the exact thing off the top of my head ). Create your listening thread and it should all work nicely

I don't know about the second part of your question, but I take it you should be able to access it... Let us know if you find out!

Yes. Call app.requestBackground().

I don't think so. However, why not have the server just push to your own port?
