Hi,
does anybody know how to open an HttpConnection from within an application on webclient devices (7100, 7750) WITHOUT using a Wap Gateway ?

It seems that those devices use a public MDS hosted byRIM and with that they can access full HTML and not just WAP.

On the RIM docs, it is documented how to use BES, how to use TCP/IP and how to use a WAP gateway but the configuration with BES does not appear to work for webclients. There are all the parameters for WAP (WapGatewayIP=, etc) and for TCP (deviceside=true). Is there a parameter necessary to use the public MDS service as a connection ?

It depends on the carrier. Some carriers use something RIM calls the "Internet Gateway". New in v3.8, it allows IP connectivity without WAP and BES. To use append the "deviceside=" parameter to your url.
