How about switching from MultiTap to Suretype. I know its been posted in this thread but that method didn't work for me.

In a field where you can type text, such as compose email, you used to be able to hold the "sym" key and switch back and forth. This doesn't seem to work. Instead, just hit the menu key and select suretype or multitap from the menu.

So strange that the OS Upgrade would remove that option.

I'd have to agree with you if Cingular and T-mobile can not host the files and can only link

Guys, i actually went back to this OS from .73 to try it again.
I installed couple of applications and JiveTalk .27 being one of them.
I went into status just to see and indeed i saw the file size decreasing (is this what you guys mean by memory leak?). Well anyways, the first application i thought of uninstalling was JiveTalk and guess what? After it was deleted i saw my memory size slowly going back up.
Highlighting the actual numbers acts like a refresh like every 2 minutes or so.
I will try JiveTalk .26 to try that version out.
*EDIT* Yup, confirmed. JiveTalk .27 is decresing my memory, just test it again.
Before installing it my memory was: 24869000 Bytes
and after installing it it has been going down and it's currently sitting at: 24383128 Bytes.
When JiveTalk is uninstalled my memory is stable. Hope this helps.
P.S. I see some people having memory leaks and they DON'T have JiveTalk installed. So im guessing is definitelly one of your applications, mines just happened to be JiveTalk.27.
I thought i had a link to JiveTalk .26 but i think they overwrite the links to stay up to date with the newest releases.
*EDIT AGAIN* omg!, this is weird, i installed JiveTalk again just to confirm and my memory is going up? What gives? Sorry for all the confusion guys/gals.
P.S. I'll keep installed longer and see what happens. Maybe im just freaking out or something! Maybe the JiveTalk resources makes the memory seesaw?

Here's another problem with this latest update: when viewing pictures that are sized at 320x240, it seems to add a white space to the right and bottom of the picture. This results in the picture being shrunk and upper-left-justified when you initially view it, and when you zoom 1:1, it keeps the white space on the right so you can scroll sideways into the blank space (if you zoom in more, you can scroll downwards into the bottom white space). This occurs in all my pictures with that resolution; pictures saved in other resolutions seem to be fine.

I found a bug...
I cant go into standby mode via the mute button after ending a call and while the screen is showing my call log...I have to go to the main screen before it will stand by...
also has anyone noticed that this one seems to use up the battery a little quicker than .71 from cingular?

It does the same thing even if you don't end a call and are just in the call log. So its def. a bug. But i never use the standby mode anyways always slip into my holster.

multiple sms recipient bug?
not sure if this is a new bug, but i first noticed it after upgrading to 4.2.1.106...
adding multiple recipients to a sms message results in the first name being repeated x times...it seems to send the message correctly to all of the added recipients, though

Nice find, that standby works just fine in 4.2.0.73 while in call log screen. Also yes I thought the battery went Much faster for me using 4.2.1.6.6 but thought perhaps I was nuts

I found a bug (or an isolated problem). After upgrading, I cannot answer a phone call while listening to music. Previously, the music would stop and I could hear the ringer through my headset. I could then press the button on the mic and answer the call. Now, my phone rings but I cannot hear through the headset. Pressing the button on the mic does nothing.

When I try to download this version it asked to fill out disclaimers that I am authorized to use on the TIM network. Using this when most of us are on the US network (T-Mobile US in my case), is not an issue?

My only gripe I have is that my battery seems to be draining faster. Otherwise, everything looks ok for now.

My videos no longer work on this release...which sucks because now I have to choose between video playback or going back to not being able to control the auto backlight feature (which also sucks)

Much better functionality, and worth the upgrade for this feature alone (well, for me, at least)!
