Hi Guys,

The latest software is also available on the Telstra site.

Probably no different to the Italy version.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.1.102 (Multilanguage)

* Applications: 4.2.1.66

Only Major differences I see are the 8100C vs 8100M in the file names and the files sizes are different. Anyone know why?

Well the Telstra says Chinese / English; I bet this means there are different input methods and such in the firmware, which would account for it's size difference.

Pay attention to how your fonts look, it's not uncommon on a "chinese" phone (I.e. a phone designed to support double-byte characters natively before single-byte, like English) to use a slightly smaller, skinnier font as the default. I've never loaded one of these on a BlackBerry though, so I'm interested to know what you find.

EDIT: I should have said "firmware" not phone in the above paragraph

So I'm assuming this means that they're the same software?

Would be nice to see some of the silly bugs fixed...but with the exact version numbers, I'm not going to get my hopes up

I lost my extra themes from my .71 install once I upgraded to the T-mobile Italy, but it's no big loss as the one I use came back.

any updates on this?

mostly wondering about the TIM version said 8100M and this Telstra says 8100C just like Cingular does on their page. I assume there is no difference between those two 8100M/8100C

They're the same. TIM's is multilang, Telstra's is only English and chinese. That's why there's a size difference.

I've used both and using Telstra now. No difference as you say.
