Default Out of contract! What should I do?

Please Login to Remove!

I am with T-mobile and am out of contract. What would you do?

1. Switch to Cingular for the 8800. And pay the higher cost voice plan and higher cost blackberry internet plan ($44). And get worse customer service.

2. Stay with T-mobile and wait for the 8800 to be released. Get a better voice plan and cheaper blackberry internet plan ($20).

3. Stay with T-mobile and wait for the 8820 (with Wifi) to be released.

4. Get a unlocked 8800 on Egay.

Your opinion will be helpfull!

stick with TMO and wait you will save money in the long run! better customer service and you say better coverage in your area? I don't think there should be a debate! If you can't wait buy unlocked! you can find some here on BBF in the buy sell trade section if you want an unlocked 8800

I've always believed that you choose your wireless carrier first and foremost and then select the phone second. What good is a phone with all the bells and whistles if your coverage is spotty. If you're happy with TMo I'd say you stay with them. The 8800 and/or 8300 should be available on TMo soon (next few months??). And like you said you could purchase an unlocked 8800 for the time being. I believe Cingular has a 30-day return policy, so you could try a different network for a while and see how you like it, plus you'd get the 8800 at the discounted price.

The cingular data plan for the bb is not $44. I'm positive I pay $29.99.... BBRYBISUNL.

NEVER switch for a device. Coverage should be your top consideration with a carrier, followed by other important criteria: price, customer service, device offering or whatever floats your boat.

I'd stick with the carrier that provides best coverage and either wait for the device to be released or purchase and unlock. I guess the exception is that I would definitely not use Verizon due to their tendency to cripple devices that they release. I'd probably also tend to avoid non-GSM carriers since I prefer being able to change devices at my whim without interacting with the carrier.

Btw -- you should double check your facts. BIS-only data from Cingular is $34/$29. $44/$39 is for BES unlimited data.
