Default Html Browser

I'm not exactly the professional with the Blackberry yet...However, I do have a working HTML Browser on my Nextel 7250. When you download the 4.0 update from the blackberry.com website you do not recieve the HTML browser. However, you can a trial version from ReqWireless. If you have the Nextel version of the Blackberry you have to use the corp. edition because the nextel platform of the phone was built for the business user. To put the browser on your BB you download the .zip file and extract it to your pc. Next, you simply load it as you would any other .alx file. Since it is only a trail version you can only use it so many times a day for ten days. To buy it ou have to go to their website www.reqwireless.com, it only cost a one time fee of 29.99. So far this is the only HTML version browser that I have tested, and so far i'm pleased with the results. The browser gives me the ability to both complete credit checks and phone sales from out in the field without having to go back to my desktop pc or my laptop. Some ppl may have to do as I did and call Nextel Data support and have them send you a copy of the Blackberry Browser Service Book. If you have any questions about this just shoot me an email on my blackberry, i'll be out of the office til late tomorrow night, so i'll help everyone the best I can from my blackberry.

Thats weird. I've had mine for over a month now. It came by itself. No downloads. Its the icon that has the globe and the little board game people around it. Its called "internet browser". Not as fast as reqwireless but more reliable due to the fact that its made by RIM.

Default HTML Browser....

I talked to Nextel Data Support today after reading that some people say that they have a browswer from RIM. However, data support tells me that the only way to get that browser is to be on an enterprise activation. For people who just want an HTML Browser is to purchase something like ReqWireless. If you can tell me how you got the "Internet Browser" by downloading it over the air or an .alx file let me know.

Thanks...

Well I refuse to purchase requireless. Its just that I pay enough for my service already. I am satisfied with what I have if they arent giving us the html thats cool with me, some people say nextel is giving it to us others say they arent. I know from talking to nextel they never tell you the whole truth anyway it may be because they dont know or they are just misinformed. I talked to one csr who said I couldnt even run any secondary software on it that I was stuck with what it came with so ya just never know. Will wait and see I guess.

Maybe in the afternoon when I wake and turn on my bb, the browser will be there. I doubt it. I've been told May 2, may 12, and may 16 as dates. Who knows if we will ever see a full html browser from nextel. I'm not holding my breath as I currently use Reqwireless.

Feels faster then ReqWireless to me, based on the demo version I had a while back. Much easier to navigate also.

Easy here:
1. Click my BlackBerry FAQ link below
2. Then Click the BlackBerry OS Upgrade Downloads link
3. Then Click Nextel

Dawg, another thread posted here said to log into your BWC and select "Send Internet Browser Service Book". All I see on my BWC login is the email service book. Any idea how I can "request" the browser service book? I've tried all the resets and registrations, but no joy. Thanks for any suggestions.

aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh caught you nextel...Yesterday I had a button on the bottom of my BWC profile page that said Snd Internet Browser Book, looked just the send service book button but just below it....

Today it has disappeared. I have had good luck so far with my new browser, but I will say one thing, if it stops working I will wait a while prior to deleting any of my service books I keep reading about folks having some bad luck when nextel has them do that.
