i have a 8700 that wont boot anymore it gives the jvm 545 error.. i tried to connect it to my pc and javaloader doesnt find it.. but when i plug it to the computer it beeps.. but doesnt connect to javaloader.. has any1 had this problem?? was it solved? :( its not on warrenty anymore would like to fix it.. im using my pearl.. but i type about 40 emails per day and the pearl isnt that great for that..

Might try a Jl_Cmder wipe of the device.... It deletes EVERYTHING! DL and install Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS from your service provider... Then DL Jl_Cmder (it's in my sig) and wipe the device (backup or synce 1st ofcourse) then run Jl_Cmder and wipe the device.... It will boot to a white screen the open DM and install the OS using Application loader.... restore the backup or resync and all is good!

Also check and make sure the device is recognized in windows.... Start >> Right click on My Computer >> Device Manager and see if the BB is listed under devices...

I had the same jvm 545 on the pearl, tried to use the Jl_Cmder wipe to clear everything and it didnt work. So I entered the wrong password 10 times via Jl_Cmder think it would force i wipe reset and now it starts to boot (hourglass) then goes blank - the red LCD also flickers on then off. I tried to remove the battery a few times and stil nothing. Please help, I need my BB!!!! Please email any suggestions to
