Default Receiving duplicate Gmail emails, 2nd is blank

Please Login to Remove!

I have my 8703e configured to receive emails from my Gmail account.

Whenever I receive a specific email from a local TV station I receive two emails on my BB (but only one on my Gmail account): the first one is the email as it appears on my Gmail account and the 2nd one is from the same email address with the same subject but the body of the email is blank.

The email does not have any attachments. This is the only email that it happens with. Here is an example of the email:

"Channel3000.com" <emailnews@channel3000.com> to me

Can you check your actual gmail account and determine if IT is receiving the blank message as well, or only forwarding you duplicate copies?

My actual gmail account is receiving only one of the emails.

I have my BB account configured to pull email from the gmail account. My guess is that for some unknown reason the BB service is splitting the email. But why?

Actually you have it configured to "push" the email... but terminology is not important.

As a first try, delete your current BIS account where the gmail is set to push to your BB is, and set it back up.

It doesn't sound like the common problem everyone has initially with their gmail sending duplicate emails, but you might read through this thread as well...

I deleted the gmail account and readded it to my BIS account. I'll find out if it works the next time a "breaking news" email is sent do me.

I was already aware of the other gmail issue re: the sent items, but thanks.

I did see some posts regarding gmail users who would receive a duplicate blank email but that was related to attachments.

And, since this is ONE sender, you may need to eventually go there and unsubscribe from their breaking news alerts, wait a day to give their servers time to handle it, and resubscribe.
