I have the new OS, it is showing a PTT icon. I already have the ability for the PTT on my plan. Has anyone gotten this to work or know how to get it to work?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Joe I saw your reply in the 4.2 thread and have been looking for this answer as well. If I have time I will go by a cingular store and see if it can be made to work.

Yes, Cingular's PTT works fine on the 8700c after installing 4.2. Just call Cingular and add either a) a monthly PTT plan, or b) pay-per-use PTT to enable the feature.

I have been using PTT on my 8700 with other Pearl users with no problem.

It is on my plan. It continues to say initializing and it won't go any farther than there.

I have the same thing, it hangs on the 'being initialized' screen. I called to add the feature to my service but still no dice. Does anyone have suggestions on how to repair this? I doubt it, but will Cingular help me troubleshoot this?

Won't work on builds other than Cingular. You can edit the platform.alx to delete it. Open the Platform.alx file, search for 102 and change to 100

I don't want to disable it, I want to use it. How can I get a Cingular build?

I put my GF's sim card in my phone and did the PTT and it worked. Yet it won't work on my sim.

Thats strange, maybe I do need a new SIM. My girlfriend has a pearl and her PTT works, I'm going to try that tonight. Thanks

Did you try your sim in her phone?

Yeah, my sim in her pearl works fine, but hers doesn't do anything different on my 8700c - kinda strange.

I'm considering taking PTT the section of the blackberry.alx file from a pearl and pasting it into the PTT section on my 8700. I'm not sure if thats such an easy (or even possible) solution, but its all I'm left with at this point.

I was hoping someone else on these forums has had more luck...

PTT? If I knew what that meant, I have since forgotten. Anyone willing to enlighten me?
