It's a new version of the BIS. As far as I can tell, this has only been implemented in Europe thus far. You will know when it happens over here as you will be prompted to upgrade or not when you log in on your carrier's BIS login site.

Supposedly, this new version will allow actual e-mail sync from your desktop to your BB (i.e. when you delete something off your inbox in Outlook, it will also be deleted off your BB

Only thing I have noticed is my network now shows AT&T instead of Cingular.

That would be great. I'm knid of surprised that Cingy is doing that. Then I wouldn't have to pay $ 20-30 a month to sync wirelessly.

That may be part of the delay - them figuring out how to still get paid. It also may be 100% rumor, but that's just what I have heard. I sure hope it's true. It would save a ton of time in cleaning out my BB inboxes

I upgraded mine today..it separates your inboxes by e-mail address..It did not do that before for me..just go to your personal email activation icon and it will tell you the whole blah blah and direct you to the upgrade...

I thin that's the 2.0 upgrade they did quite some time ago. I have had separate inboxes for each of my e-mail accounts for quite some time now.

If you mean, when I go into my gmail folder (not the main messages folder) and have the menu option for Reconcile Now...yes I have it and am on Cingular.

What I mean is when I read a message on my BB it's not marked as read in Gmail. I think that is because ATT is not on the latest BIS.

I am on Cingular "blue" the OLD at&t, I am still on it because I have the charter plan ($99) unlimited calls....in any case....I have FULL reconcilation with my gmail with ONE exception, when I initiate an email on the phone, it does not show up in my sent items on GMAIL, BUT, if that email gets a response, then both "conversations" show up on GMAIL....other than that I have FULL reconsiliation!

what do you mean - do you mean on your device, the emails are separtaed by email account? That would be awesome - I hate how it clumps them all together under messages without separating them.

I cant seem to upgrade to 2.3 though - keeps showing older version online

I have heard about this, but like you I can't find any evidence of it. I would be very curious though.
