Default 7290 help needed

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I have a Blackberry 7290 on Vodafone. The phone was previously on T-Mobile but has been unlocked.
I'm trying to set my Blackberry 7290 for the internet but can't find a way to input the settings and theres no browser installed apart from Opera Mini which i can't get to connect.

Any ideas?

Phil

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan for Vodafone?

Default 7290

I've been told that I don't need a Blackberry connect account, I have a data plan with Vodafone and my data has been enabled but not as a specific dataplan, but i've also been told that I dont need vodafone's blackberry email service is this correct?

Nope. You will never get e-mail or get the BlackBerry browser without a BlackBerry Data Plan. Without it you *may* be able to get Opera Mini to work by putting the in the APN for Vpdafone (I don't know it) in the TCP section under Options / Advanced (or just Options).

I'm not really bothered about Email. Its the internet I want to use. problem is if i subcribe to blackberry connect its an extra 15 on top of my tariff, which will come to 55pm.

What did you like about the BB so much that you got it over another smart phone?

It would be a lot easier to get some other kind of PDA to work this way I would think.

Because it has a qwerty keyboard. I know the Nokia E61 has a keyboard, but I dont have a spare 300+ to spend, plus I have 3 other contracts running. I bought the Blackberry 7290 from a mobile phone stall in the local market for 45.

If could afford to buy the E61 I would have.
